About
Tinakilly House is an elegant Victorian country mansion set in seven acres of beautifully landscaped gardens overlooking the Irish Sea. The hotel was originally built by the British government in 1883 for Captain Robert Halpin, commander of "The Great Eastern" and mariner supreme who laid 2,600 miles of telegraphic cable in 1866, joining Europe to America.
With 51 spacious period bedrooms, some with four-poster beds and junior suites with breathtaking sea views, each individually furnished with antiques and offering all modern comforts.
Near this hideaway on the doorstep of Dublin are grand mountain drives, historic sites, beautiful gardens, great golf, fine horse rides and bracing walks.
Rooms
The elegant bedrooms reflect the Victorian period and also provide all modern comforts. The period rooms of the west wing feature four poster and half tester canopy beds. In the east wing, most of the antique appointed Junior Suites and Captain Suites offer breathtaking views over the Irish Sea whilst the remainder offer sweeping views of our gardens. Or, for sheer indulgence, enjoy the sumptuous Admiral's State Room. We pride ourselves on our attention to detail and we look forward to providing a comfortable environment for your stayOther
Tinakilly is the ideal venue for small conferences and business meetings. Less than an hour's drive from Dublin, the hotel offers a working environment with no distractions, together with the highest professional standards of service.
